Review: Ecological Stroll through Munich

Sustainable cities are an important part of the solution of contemporary environmental problems. Environmental historian Christof Mauch and city planner Dorothee Rummel took the PhD group on a “green” tour of Munich, to raise awareness for nature in the city, the ecological value of undefined, seemingly empty lots (“Brache”), and the cultural history of those tiny gardens the Germans call “Schrebergarten.”
