The Green Hour is not only a space for academic debate but seeks to be a forum for artists as well. Poetry, music, and art can communicate complex ideas in ways that reach audiences on the emotional level, getting them involved in potentially transformative activities.

Stefanie Zoche’s Green Hour visit was also the première of her latest video project, Celulosa Invasiva. Created in response to present day environmental activism in Galicia (Spain), it pulled the audience into a world of trees and water that is about to be lost due to short-term profit and long-term pollution in an economically weak region in Europe. The ensuing discussion centered on art as activism, but also on artistic traditions, media usage, and aesthetic effect.
