Review: GREEN HOUR: “COMPOUND ATMOSPHERIC EXTREME EVENTS” (PROF. DR. ELKE HERTIG)

What is the impact of groundlevel ozone on human health? And what can be done to avoid its negative effects? Focusing on the city of Augsburg as an exemplary case, Prof. Dr. Elke Hertig concluded that it does not suffice to decrease groundlevel ozone emissions without considering the larger context of climate change: if we do not introduce measures to decrease human-made global warming, we cannot possibly avoid the stress that groundlevel ozone has on the human cardiological and blood systems and the negative effects of those emissions on human organs.
