When we think of Ernest Hemingway, what comes to mind are terms like “macho,” the “lost generation,” “the Spanish Civil War,” the “iceberg theory,” “suicide.” Lay Sion Ng introduced a new facet of the author, who received the Nobel Prize in 1954: Hemingway, a man who broke with the Victorian model of masculinity by bonding with nature. Who hunted elephants while at the same time feeling a deep connection to animals and the environment in general.
