Three people standing and discussing holding pots of tea in hand. In the back one person just looking good.

Review: GREEN HOUR: “NATURSCHUTZ UND NACHHALTIGKEIT: EIN SPANNUNGSFELD” (PROF. DR. ALFRED NORDMANN)

What do we talk about when we talk about the environmental limits within
which humanity can safely operate and secure good living conditions for
future generations? In his talk, the philosopher of technology Professor
Alfred Nordmann shared his insights on possible meaning of the United
Nations Brundtland Report on Sustainability (1987) and the Planetary
Boundaries concept (2009). Has the concept of sustainability shifted
from a focus on the limit of natural resources towards an emphasis on
technological innovation, risk management and governance? The
conversation continued over a cup of coffee (on the picture: PhD
students Max Pieper and Sven Seelinger, in the background Luca Trilsbach).
