A bay is a noun only if the water is dead. - Robin Wall Kimmerer
Growing up close to the mountains, I’ve always been in awe with the sheer vastness of wild landscapes. But my feelings for nature didn’t match with the often profit driven perspective society taught me. During my Bachelor in Sweden, my curiosity gravitated towards Indigenous-led movements in the Americas standing against resource extraction by multinational corporations and state violence. Their way of creating respectful and reciprocal relationships with the more-than-human world truly captivated me. Finally, exploring ancient Indigenous food systems and ethics brought this concept to life.
Drawing from Indigenous wisdom and knowledge, my focus lies on discovering practical applications of these values in our societies. Indigenous food systems are my starting point in this venture.
