Jessica J. Lee

PhD in Environmental History and Aesthetics

Jessica is a British-Canadian-Taiwanese author and environmental historian. She has won awards such as the Hilary Weston Writers’ Trust Prize for Nonfiction and the Boardman Tasker Award for Mountain Literature.

With three captivating books of nature writing published—Turning, Two Trees Make a Forest and the upcoming Dispersals—Jessica’s prose transports readers to the heart of the natural world. Holding a PhD in Environmental History and Aesthetics, Jessica’s passion led her to a Writer-in-Residence role at the Leibniz Institute for Freshwater Ecology in Berlin. She’s also the driving force behind The Willowherb Review and works as a creative writing instructor at the University of Cambridge.
