My main research interest lies in the challenges going along with the transformation processes that are initiated in order to create a climate neutral society and economy. While targets have been set, implementing measures and instruments that deliver a path towards complete decarbonization still presents numerous challenges. In order to design policies, one has to understand the impact of these policies on different individuals, societal groups and firms. Such an understanding is crucial for decarbonization paths to be socially acceptable and economically efficient. Consequently, current research projects focus on, for example, the implications of the ‘Energiewende’ but also on human adaptation to climate change with an emphasis on different social groups as well as regions.
