Blueprints of Colonialism: shaping Libyan landscape, 1911-1970

I was born in a small seaside town in Italy, which I left only to follow my passion for history—first to the University of Pisa, then to Berlin, and now to Munich. During my studies, I mostly focused on the cultural and political history of the Cold War. In the past few years, however, I have grown unsatisfied with the framework I was given and began searching for new ways to approach historical problems, particularly by integrating quantitative methods into my research. I also developed a strong interest in the Italian and German colonial past, which led me to study soil exploitation and landscape transformation in fascist Libya. Although I was born near the sea, I especially enjoy trekking, climbing, and spending time in the mountains. In Munich, I hope to find an academic environment that aligns with my inclinations and helps me bring coherence to the path I have built so far.
